Mother American Night: My Life In Crazy Times by John Perry Barlow

I have to admit, this book was added to my "To Read" list on the cover alone. I was breezing through a Books-A-Million in my hometown, saw the cover and added it on Goodreads. What isn't there to like? A man in a cowboy hat, with the American flag. The subtitle locked it. I missed the Grateful Dead reference, though I looked it up later. Hey, at least I'm honest! Just like I am Grateful Dead fan, not a scholar, this book is not a history of Dead, it's Barlow's recollections. It's a autobiography in the true sense of the word. A blow by blow account of the band, this is not. I get bored with the details of bands and music bios anyway, so this was perfect. Give me the stories! And Barlow does.
