Project Reflection
Group: Two
Overall I felt this project was worthwhile, and rewarding, however, there were two elements that need address.
1) Overall our group well together, and once there was a specific target in mind the group moved well toward that goal. The one hindrance to this was the size of the group and the difficulty we had in communicating. With group work, it is never advised to place more than four students in a single group. When considering the nature of this class (online rather than in-person) this is particularly important. Periods past where one member or another dropped out of regular communication. With seven people in a group, it was easy to cover the load of the person or persons in question, but it made working effectively difficult. We were all professionals working in other jobs, thus we had several sets of responsibilities to maintain. This meant coordinating work times and group meetings a challenge.
2) The second issue was clear and concise communication. Given connectivity is almost constant, it still remained that we struggled to communicate with the entire group effectively. Emails stacked up quickly and communication was lost easily. Communications turned into long streams of emails, where it was easy to lose specifics. Perhaps there was a more effective way of communicating, but several different attempts were made on the part of our group, with none being altogether effective.
Despite these obstacles, our group worked cohesively (as much as possible), and there were no major conflicts to produce an original paper that meets the requirements of the project outlines.
